Step by step

How do I place a bet on a cricket match?

Log in to your King Exchange ID in your browser, open cricket and choose the match. Pick a market, such as match odds for the winner, read the back and lay prices, then tap a price and enter your stake. Confirm on the bet slip and track the bet in your open bets.

  1. 1

    Step 1 of 6

    Log in to your ID

Open King Exchange in your phone or laptop browser and log in with your username and password. There's no app to install.

No ID yet? Message the team on WhatsApp. It's usually ready about two minutes after your first deposit.

  2. 2

    Step 2 of 6

    Find the match

Open cricket and choose the match. Matches being played right now are marked Live, and upcoming fixtures are listed with their start time.

Check the teams and the format. A T20 and an ODI between the same sides are different matches.

  3. 3

    Step 3 of 6

    Choose a market

Each match has several markets. Match odds is a bet on the winner. Session markets cover the runs after a set over, fancy markets cover players and events, and the toss market covers the coin toss.

New to this? Start with match odds. There's only one question to answer.

  4. 4

    Step 4 of 6

Read the back and lay prices

Each team shows two prices. The blue back price is a bet that the team wins. The pink lay price is a bet that it doesn't. Both are decimal odds: your stake multiplied by the odds is what a winning back bet returns.

Lay only when you understand your liability, which is what you pay out if the team wins.

  5. 5

    Step 5 of 6

Tap a price and enter your stake

Tapping a price adds the selection to your bet slip. Type your stake, and the slip shows what you'd get back. For a lay bet, it shows your liability instead.

Look at the odds on the slip again before you confirm. During a live match they can move with every ball.

  6. 6

    Step 6 of 6

    Confirm and track the bet

Confirm the bet. It's accepted once it appears in your open bets, and it stays there until the market settles on the official result. Winnings go straight to your balance.

A confirmed bet can't be cancelled or changed, so check the stake and the selection first.

Two sides of every price

What's the difference between back and lay?

A back bet wins if the outcome happens; a lay bet wins if it doesn't. Back India for ₹200 at 1.90 and a win returns ₹380, or ₹180 profit. Lay India for ₹200 at 1.92 and you keep ₹200 if they don't win, but pay ₹184, your liability, if they do.

Back 1.90

You bet India win

Stake ₹200. If India win, you get ₹380 back, which is ₹180 profit. If they lose, you lose the ₹200.

Lay 1.92

You bet India don't win

Lay ₹200. If India don't win, you keep the ₹200. If they do, you pay ₹184, which is ₹200 × (1.92 − 1). That ₹184 is your liability.

Before you confirm

What should I check before I confirm?

Check the price on your bet slip, because live odds can change between tapping and confirming. Markets can be suspended, for example after a wicket, and accept no bets until they reopen. A pre-match bet placed after the start is void, and once a bet shows in your open bets it can't be cancelled or edited.
