IPL betting means backing outcomes in Indian Premier League matches: the match winner, powerplay runs, a player's score or the season champion. Every match has pre-match and ball-by-ball live markets on King Exchange, and the same ID works every season.
The short version
Markets explained
You can bet on IPL match odds, the toss winner, powerplay runs, session runs at a set over, player runs and wickets, and season-long markets. Match odds is the main one: back the team you think will win, or lay the one you think won't. A tie goes to a Super Over.
Back the team you think will win, or lay the one you think won't. A tie goes to a Super Over, which decides the market.
Wait for the toss and the confirmed XIs. Prices often move after both.
Pick which captain wins the coin toss. The market settles before the first ball.
It's close to a coin flip, so keep the stake small.
Bet over or under a runs line for the first six overs of an innings.
Compare the line with recent powerplay scores at the same ground.
Bet over or under the score at a set point, such as the end of the 10th, 15th or 20th over.
Overs 16 to 20 score fastest, so late lines are set higher.
Lines on a batter's runs or a bowler's wickets, plus top batter and top bowler for each side.
Batting position matters. Openers face more balls than anyone else.
Long-term bets on the champion, the playoff qualifiers, the Orange Cap for most runs and the Purple Cap for most wickets.
Early prices are bigger, but injuries and form can change them a lot.
Reading odds
IPL prices are decimal, and your return is your stake times the price: ₹1,000 at 2.10 returns ₹2,100, which is ₹1,100 profit. You can also lay a team, betting that it won't win; lay ₹1,000 at 2.10 and your liability is ₹1,100. Live prices update after almost every ball.
You can also lay a team, which means betting that it won't win. Lay ₹1,000 at 2.10 and your liability is ₹1,100. The bet slip shows that number before you confirm.
Live prices update after almost every ball. Markets pause for a few seconds after a wicket, a boundary or a review, then reopen at the new price.

Tournament format
Ten teams play a league stage, and the top four go through to four playoff matches. Finishing in the top two gives a team two chances to reach the final, so their outright prices shorten late in the league stage.
Match 1
1st vs 2nd
The winner goes straight to the final. The loser gets a second chance in Qualifier 2.
Match 2
3rd vs 4th
The winner goes to Qualifier 2. The loser is out.
Match 3
Q1 loser vs Eliminator winner
The winner takes the other place in the final.
Match 4
Q1 winner vs Q2 winner
Decides the IPL champion.
Impact Player rule
The Impact Player rule lets each side bring a substitute into the match. Chasing teams usually swap a bowler for an extra batter, so line-ups bat deeper, totals run higher and late-innings session lines are bigger. Check both teams' Impact Player options before you bet on runs.
That has pushed IPL totals higher and made late-innings session lines bigger. Check both teams' Impact Player options before you bet on runs.
Venues and conditions
Check the confirmed XIs and Impact Player options, the toss and whether the captain chose to bat or bowl, the pitch report and recent scores at the venue, the rain forecast and the overseas players. Short boundaries and flat pitches push totals up, and evening dew usually helps the team batting second.
Heavy dew in evening games makes the ball hard to grip, which usually helps the team batting second. Afternoon games in a double-header see less dew.
A missing strike bowler or a change in the top order can move the price more than the league table does.
Settlement
Match odds follow the official result, including DLS results and Super Overs. If a match is abandoned with no result, match odds bets are void. Session and player bets stand only if the overs they cover were bowled, and bets on a player who isn't in the XI are void. An official tie with no tie-breaker is settled as a dead heat.
If rain shortens the match and a result is declared, including under DLS, match odds settle on that result.
If the match is abandoned or declared no result, match odds bets are void and stakes are returned.
A Super Over decides match odds. Its runs and wickets don't count for session, fancy or player markets.
A session whose over is never bowled is void, unless its result was already decided.
Bets on a player who isn't in the playing XI are void.
Match odds bets are settled as a dead heat.
Side by side
Pick by how long you want to wait and what you follow. The toss winner settles before the first ball and suits a small bet for fun. Match odds suits most bettors, powerplay runs suit players who track venue scoring, and season markets such as the champion suit patient bettors with small stakes.
| Market | Settles | What decides it | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Toss winner | Before the first ball | The coin | A small bet for fun |

| Match odds | End of the match | Team strength, toss and conditions | Most bettors |
| Player runs | End of the innings | Batting position and form | Fans who follow players |
| Playoff qualifiers | End of the league stage | Consistency over 14 games | Patient bettors |
| Champion, Orange and Purple Cap | After the final | Form, fitness and squad depth | Long-term, small stakes |
