T20 World Cup betting means backing outcomes at the ICC's T20 tournament. Every match has pre-match and live markets on King Exchange, and outright markets such as the tournament winner stay open while the event runs.
The short version
Markets explained
You can bet on match odds, the tournament winner, the top batter and top bowler, group winners and teams to qualify, and more. Match odds is the main market: back the team you think will win, or lay the one you think won't. A tie goes to a Super Over, which decides the market.

Favourites against Associate teams pay little. The runs and wickets markets often offer more.
Pick the team that lifts the trophy. The prices move after every round.
Look at the group draw. An easier route to the semi-finals changes the value.
Pick the player who scores the most runs across the whole tournament.
Openers from teams likely to reach the semi-finals get the most innings.
Pick the player who takes the most wickets across the tournament.
Death bowlers and wrist spinners often finish near the top.
Bet on who tops a group or who goes through. Teams are ranked on points, then net run rate.
Big wins matter, because net run rate breaks ties on points.
Bet over or under a runs line at the end of the 6th, 10th or 15th over.
Host conditions move these lines more than anything a team did in its home league.
How it works
You back an outcome at a decimal price, and your return is your stake times the price: ₹500 at 2.50 returns ₹1,250. You can also lay a team, betting that it won't win; lay ₹500 at 2.50 and your liability is ₹750. Outrights such as the tournament winner settle after the final.

Match markets settle within hours of the result. Outrights such as the tournament winner settle after the final.

Tournament format
Recent men's editions had 20 teams in four groups of five, then a Super 8, semi-finals and a final. The ICC can change the format between editions, so check it before you bet on group or qualification markets. The Women's T20 World Cup is a separate event with fewer teams.
Stage 1
20 teams in four groups of five
The top two in each group go through.
Stage 2
Two groups of four
The top two in each group reach the semi-finals.
Stage 3
Four teams, two knockout matches
The winners meet in the final.
Stage 4
One match
Decides the T20 World Cup champion.
Host conditions
Host conditions shape totals more than any team's home form. Slow pitches bring totals down and help spinners, seaming pitches help fast bowlers with the new ball, day-night games can change between innings and affect who wants to bat first, and rain can shorten a match or wash it out.
Totals come down and spinners take more wickets.
Fast bowlers get help, especially with the new ball.
Conditions can change between innings, which affects who wants to bat first.
Check the forecast. Rain can shorten a match or wash it out completely.
Associate teams
More often than in longer formats. The T20 World Cup includes the ICC's Full Members and Associate teams that qualified, and one good spell or one big innings can decide a 20-over game. Favourites in these matches are priced short, so many players look at runs and wickets markets instead.

Tournament outrights
T20 World Cup outrights, such as the winner, top batter or top bowler, stay open before and during the tournament. Prices move each round as results, injuries and the group draw play out, and outrights settle once the final is over and the result is official.
01
You can bet on the winner, top batter or top bowler before the tournament or while it's on.
02
Results, injuries and the group draw all change the prices as teams go through or go out.
03
Outrights settle once the final is over and the result is official.
Rain rules and settlement
Under DLS, a match needs at least five overs a side for a result. If there's a result, match odds settle on it. If not, match odds bets are void and your stake is returned. A tie goes to a Super Over, which decides match odds only.
A result under DLS needs at least five overs a side. Match odds then settle on that official result.
If the match is abandoned or declared no result, match odds bets are void and stakes are returned.
A Super Over decides match odds. Its runs and wickets don't count for session, fancy or player markets.
Knockout matches often have a reserve day, so a rained-off semi-final or final may be finished the next day.
A session whose over is never bowled is void, unless its result was already decided.
Tournament winner, top batter and top bowler settle after the final, once the result is official.
Side by side
Pick by how long you want to wait. Match odds settle at the end of the match and suit most bettors, powerplay runs settle after six overs, group winner markets suit bettors who study the draw, and the tournament winner and top batter or bowler settle after the final.
