Betting rules: how every market is settled.

These are the rules King Exchange uses to settle bets, and they apply to every bet on every ID. If a market shows its own rule when you bet, that rule applies to that bet.

For the conditions of using your account, read the terms and conditions. For conduct, see the community guidelines.

Key takeaways

  1. King Exchange bets settle on the official result declared by the event's governing body, and later changes don't affect a settled bet.
  2. Cricket match odds follow the official result, including DLS, and are void if a match is abandoned with no result.
  3. Super over runs count for the match winner only, not for session, fancy or player markets.
  4. If selections tie in a market with no tie option, your stake is split equally and each part is paid at full odds.
  5. Raise any settlement query within 7 days with the bet details, and appeal within 30 days if you disagree.

Rule set 01

General rules for every bet

Confirmed bets stand
A bet is accepted once it shows in your open bets. After that it can't be cancelled or changed.
Markets can be suspended
We may suspend a market at any time, for example after a wicket or a goal, or while prices update. No bets are accepted while it's suspended.
Late bets are void
A pre-match bet placed after the event has started, or any bet placed once the outcome was already known, is void and the stake is returned.
Official result
Bets settle on the official result declared by the event's governing body at the end of the event. Later changes, such as appeals, disqualifications or amended scorecards, don't change a settled bet.
Palpable errors
If a bet is accepted at an obviously wrong price, for example because of a technical fault or a typing error, it's settled at the correct market price at that time. If no correct price can be worked out, it's void.
Dead heats
If two or more selections tie and the market doesn't offer a tie, your stake is split equally between them and each part is paid at full odds.
Void bets
A void bet is settled as if it was never placed, and the stake goes back into your balance.

Rule set 02

Cricket: match odds

Limited-overs matches
T20, ODI and The Hundred settle on the official winner, including the result of a super over or any other tie-breaker. An official tie with no tie-breaker is settled as a dead heat.
Rain and reduced overs
If a match is shortened and a result is declared, including under the DLS method, bets settle on that official result.
No result or abandoned
If a match is abandoned or declared no result, match odds bets are void.
Test matches
Match odds include the draw. If the match is drawn, bets on the draw win and bets on either team lose.

Rule set 03

Cricket: session markets

A session market settles on the runs the batting team has scored at the end of the stated over. Extras (wides, no-balls, byes and leg byes) count towards session runs. Penalty runs count if they're added to the batting team's total in that innings.

Innings ends early
If the batting team is all out, or reaches its target, before the session's over is finished, the session settles on the team's final total for that innings.
Rain or reduced overs
If play stops and the session's over is never bowled, the session is void, unless its result was already decided. If overs are reduced after a session market opened, that session is void.
Super overs
Runs scored in a super over don't count towards any session market.

Rule set 04

Cricket: fancy, player and toss markets

Player runs and wickets
Settled on the official scorecard. Bets on a player who isn't in the playing XI are void. A batter who retires hurt is settled on their runs at retirement, unless they come back to bat in the same innings, in which case their final score counts.
Fall of wicket and partnerships
Settled on the score when the stated wicket falls. If the innings ends before that wicket falls, the market settles on the innings total.
Super overs
Runs, wickets and boundaries in a super over don't count towards fancy or player markets.
Toss
Settled on the official toss result. If no toss takes place, all toss bets are void.

Rule set 05

Other sports

Football
Match result, totals and handicap markets settle on the score at the end of normal time, including stoppage time but not extra time or penalties, unless the market says otherwise. If a match is abandoned or postponed and not completed, bets are void unless their result was already decided.
Tennis
If a player retires or is disqualified after at least one set is completed, the player who goes through wins the match. If it happens before a set is completed, match winner bets are void. Set and game markets already decided stand.
Kabaddi, horse racing and esports
Settled on the official result at the end of the event. Bets on a runner or team that doesn't take part are void.

Rule set 06

Live casino and card games

Live casino and card game rounds settle on the result dealt in that round, as shown on the stream and in your bet history.

Studio problem

If a round is interrupted before it finishes, for example by a stream or connection failure at the studio, bets on it are void and stakes are returned.

Your connection drops

Losing connection on your own device doesn't void a round. It carries on and settles normally.

Rule set 07

Settlement times and disputes

Most markets settle within 5 to 15 minutes of the result. Multi-day events, such as Test matches, and results that need official confirmation can take longer.

If you think a bet was settled wrongly, message your account manager on WhatsApp within 7 days of settlement. Include these details from your bet history:

  1. Match
  2. Market
  3. Stake
  4. Odds
  5. Time you placed the bet

We check each dispute against the official result and these rules, and tell you the outcome in the same chat. If you disagree with it, you can appeal within 30 days.
